Sony Music Celebrates Diversity at Pride Party in Berlin
In celebration of Pride Month, Sony Music hosted a colorful Pride Party at Berlin’s Birgit Club on June 26th. Organized by the queer employee network EYO (‘Embrace Yourself and Others’), the evening was all about diversity, empowerment and community. In addition to drag shows and DJ sets, the program also included a showcase by Berlin-based artist Tabea (Epic/Sony Music).
The guests included partners, creators, artists and Sony Music employees. In addition, limited tickets were awarded to the community who had previously taken part in a prize draw via the social media channels of participating artists and Sony Music. The evening was hosted by drag queen Miss Ivanka T. As part of the event, donations were collected for the TransInterQueer organization, a social center and self-advocacy organization by and for trans*, inter* and non-binary people. The Pride Party was organized by EYO (‘Embrace Yourself And Others’), a voluntarily organized employee network within Sony Music GSA, consisting of LGBTQIA+ employees and allies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
“The queer community is an integral and valuable part of Sony Music and we are delighted that EYO has organized this fantastic evening to celebrate this visibly. Happy Pride!”, Verena Adam von Strenge, Vice President People Experience & Culture Sony Music GSA.
Both internally and beyond the company’s borders, EYO is committed to raising awareness of diversity and inclusion issues. With members from all areas of the company, the Group offers a safe(r) space for queer employees and promotes diversity throughout the company from within the workforce.
