Female* Producer Prize Opens Application Phase for 2025
For the first time, both producers and songwriters can apply. Winners will receive prize money, goodies, and the opportunity to participate in a prestigious songwriting camp.
Berlin, April 30, 2025 – With an expanded concept, the Female* Producer Prize 2025 is launching its fourth edition. The renowned music award, initiated by the association Music Women Germany and Sony Music Entertainment, introduces a new category for songwriting alongside music production. The goal is to support and give visibility to excellent FLINTA* producers and songwriters. Producers and songwriters can submit their productions at www.femaleproducerprize.com until May 31. The winners will be announced in late summer.
A Prize that Promotes Careers
In the past three editions, numerous talents have already benefited from the Female* Producer Prize. Mona Yim is now internationally sought after as a DJ and producer, Sheyda Minia produces for artists like Samy Deluxe and Novaa has established herself as a creative voice in the scene. Over 500 applications have been received in recent years.
“The Female* Producer Prize empowers female and non-binary producers to trust in their abilities, build on them, seek role models, and become one themselves!,” says YUKI, winner of 2024.
Jovanka v. Wilsdorf, initiator of the Female* Producer Prize: “The concept works. It is great to see how our award winners develop radiance and pave the way for more and more emerging talents. In the fourth round of the Female* Producer Prize, we are further sharpening the profile. For the first time, three outstanding songwriters will also be honored. Strong female actors in the music industry are not a nice-to-have – they are essential for the future of our music. Role models rule!”

More Than Just a Prize: A Sustainable Network
In 2025, the Female* Producer Prize offers far more than an award: Winners receive access to a comprehensive support package, including an exclusive workshop day at the Sony Music Circle Studios in Berlin, coaching sessions with industry experts, and inclusion in the Female Producer Register of Sony Music, where all winners of recent years are presented. For the first time, winners will be invited to a two-day songwriting camp by Sony Music Publishing to compose new songs for successful artists. The Female* Producer Prize is a cooperative project of the structural support of the Initiative Musik and is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM). The Initiative Musik is thus the largest financial supporter of the prize and is committed to the visibility and development of female and non-binary music creators in the fields of production and songwriting. The prize is also part of the network for pop and jazz awards, recently initiated by the Initiative Musik to sustainably network and strengthen existing structures.
“With the Female* Producer Prize, we specifically promote exceptional talents who often face structural hurdles on their way. It is a central concern for us to make these artists visible – for a fairer, more diverse music landscape. Therefore, we are pleased to support the prize for the first time this year as part of our structural support,” says Katja Lucker, Managing Director of the Initiative Musik.
